Evander Holyfield (The Real Deal) is a 62-year-old retired American professional boxer. He is a two-weightclass world champion with 11 world-title wins. In a career spanning 26 years, 5 months, and 22 days, Holyfield amassed a record of 44-10-2, which includes 29 wins via KO, 9 of which were in world-title fights. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2017.
Evander Holyfield's Boxing Career
Evander Holyfield was born in Atmore, Alabama, U.S. on October 19, 1962. He made his professional debut at the age of 22 years on November 15, 1984 against Lionel Byarm. Holyfield defeated Byarm via 6-round unanimous decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Holyfield became a world champion at the age of 23 after 11 professional fights. He challenged Dwight Muhammad Qawi for the WBA cruiserweight title and defeated the champion via 15-round split decision, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully win the heavyweight (WBA, WBC, IBF) titles also to become a two-division world champion — and undisputed at both the divisions.
Holyfield's last fight was a 10th-round TKO victory over Brian Nielsen at age 48, on May 7, 2011.
