Carlos De León's Boxing Career
Carlos De León was born in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico on May 3, 1959. He made his professional debut at the age of 15 years on August 3, 1974 against Roy Harris. León defeated Harris via 4th round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
León became a world champion at the age of 21 after 31 professional fights. He challenged Marvin Camel for the WBC cruiserweight title and defeated the champion via 15-round majority decision, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully win the The Ring cruiserweight world title as well.
León's last fight was a 3rd-round TKO loss to Brian Nielsen at age 36, on November 24, 1995.
