Mike Tyson was born in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York, U.S. on June 30, 1966. He made his professional debut at the age of 18 years on March 6, 1985 against Hector Mercedes. Tyson defeated Mercedes via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Tyson became a world champion at the age of 20 after 27 professional fights. He challenged Trevor Berbick for the WBC heavyweight title and stopped the champion in the 2nd of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.

He then went on to successfully win the WBA, IBF, and The Ring heavyweight world titles as well — and undisputed at heavyweight.

Tyson's latest fight was an unanimous decision loss to Jake Paul at age 58, on November 15, 2024.
