Riddick Bowe was born in Brooklyn, New York CityNew York, U.S. on August 10, 1967. He made his professional debut at the age of 21 years on March 6, 1989 against Lionel Butler. Bowe defeated Butler via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Bowe became a world champion fight at the age of 25 after 31 professional fights. He challenged Evander Holyfield for the WBA, WBC, and IBF heavyweight titles and defeated the champion via 12-round unanimous decision, winning his first world titles. With this win, he also became the undisputed heavyweight world champion — in his very first world-title fight.
He then went on to successfully win the WBO heavyweight world title as well — and undisputed at heavyweight.
Bowe's last fight was an unanimous decision victory over Gene Pukall at age 41, on December 13, 2008.
