Vasyl Lomachenko

Vasyl Lomachenko was born in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union on February 17, 1988. He made his professional debut at the age of 25 years on October 12, 2013 against José Luis Ramírez García. Lomachenko defeated García via 4th round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Lomachenko got his first shot at a world title at the age of 26 right after his pro-debut fight. On March 1, 2014 Lomachenko challenged Orlando Salido's WBO featherweight title but lost via 12-round split decision.

In his next fight, he got another shot at the featherweight WBO (vacant) title — this time against Gary Russell Jr. He defeated Russell Jr. via 12-round split decision, winning his first world title.

Lomachenko then went on to successfully conquer the super-featherweight (WBO) and lightweight (WBA, The Ring, WBO, WBC, IBF) divisions as well to become a three-division world champion.

Lomachenko's latest fight was an 11th-round TKO victory over George Kambosos Jr. at age 36, on May 12, 2024, in which he won the vacant IBF lightweight world title.
