Kazuto Ioka's Boxing Career
Kazuto Ioka was born in Sakai, Japan on March 24, 1989. He made his professional debut at the age of 20 years on April 12, 2009 against Thongthailek Sor Tanapinyo. Ioka defeated Tanapinyo via 3rd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Ioka became a world champion at the age of 21 after 6 professional fights. He challenged Oleydong Sithsamerchai for the WBC strawweight title and stopped the champion in the 5th of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully conquer the light-flyweight (WBA), flyweight (WBA), and super-flyweight (WBO, WBA) divisions as well to become a four-division world champion.
Ioka's latest fight was a unanimous decision loss to Fernando Martinez at age 35, on July 7, 2024, in which he lost his WBA super-flyweight title in a unification bout.
