Joshua Franco was born in San Antonio, Texas, U.S. on October 27, 1995. He made his professional debut at the age of 19 years on August 6, 2015 against Temoatzin Landeros. Franco defeated Landeros via 4-round split decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Franco became a world champion at the age of 24 after 19 professional fights. He challenged Andrew Moloney for the WBA (Regular) super-flyweight title and defeated the champion via 12-round unanimous decision, winning his first world title.
