Fernando Martínez' Boxing Career
Fernando Martínez was born in Avellaneda, Buenos Aires, Argentina on July 18, 1991. He made his professional debut at the age of 26 years on August 25, 2017 against Juan Ignacio Haran. Martínez defeated Haran via 4th round RTD, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Martínez became a world champion at the age of 30 after 13 professional fights. He challenged Jerwin Ancajas for the IBF super-flyweight title and defeated the champion via 12-round unanimous decision, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully win the WBA super-flyweight world title as well.
Martínez' latest fight was a unanimous decision victory over Kazuto Ioka at age 32, on July 7, 2024, in which he unified the IBF super-flyweight world title.
