DeMarcus Corley was born in Washington, D.C., U.S. on June 3, 1974. He made his professional debut at the age of 21 years on May 17, 1996 against Aaron Smith. Corley defeated Smith via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Corley became a world champion at the age of 27 after 27 professional fights. He challenged Felix Flores for the vacant WBO super-lightweight title and stopped Flores in the 1st of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.

Corley's last fight was a 6th-round TKO loss to Custio Clayton at age 44, on March 29, 2019.
