Boxing Career
Lucas Matthysse was born in Trelew, Chubut, Argentina on September 27, 1982. He made his professional debut at the age of 21 years on June 4, 2004 against Leandro Almagro. Matthysse defeated Almagro via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Matthysse got his first world-title fight at the age of 30 after 37 professional fights. On September 14, 2013 Matthysse challenged Danny García's WBA (Super), WBC, and The Ring super-lightweight titles but lost via 12-round unanimous decision.
