Boxing Career

Éric Lucas was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on May 29, 1971. He made his professional debut at the age of 20 years on December 17, 1991 against Errol Brown. Lucas defeated Brown via 4-round unanimous decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Lucas got his first shot at a world title at the age of 24 after 21 professional fights. On January 13, 1996 Lucas challenged Fabrice Tiozzo's WBC light-heavyweight title but lost via 12-round unanimous decision.

He became a world champion on July 10, 2001 at the age of 30 years, after by defeating Glenn Catley, the then-reining WBC super-middleweight champion, via 7th round KO. This was his 40th fight as a professional.

Lucas' last fight was an 8th-round RTD loss to Librado Andrade at age 38, on May 28, 2010.
