Vinny Paz' Boxing Career

Vinny Paz was born in Cranston, Rhode Island, U.S. on December 16, 1962. He made his professional debut at the age of 20 years on May 26, 1983 against Alfredo Rivera. Paz defeated Rivera via 4th round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Paz became a world champion at the age of 24 after 23 professional fights. He challenged Greg Haugen for the IBF lightweight title and defeated the champion via 15-round unanimous decision, winning his first world title.

He then went on to successfully win the super-welterweight (WBA) titles also to become a two-division world champion.

Paz' last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Tocker Pudwill at age 41, on March 27, 2004.
