Danny Green's Boxing Career
Danny Green was born in Perth, Western Australia, Australia on March 9, 1973. He made his professional debut at the age of 28 years on June 29, 2001 against Waqa Kolivuso. Green defeated Kolivuso via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Green got his first shot at a world title at the age of 30 after 16 professional fights. On August 16, 2003 Green challenged Markus Beyer's WBC super-middleweight title but lost via 5th round disqualification.
He became a world champion on December 16, 2007 at the age of 34 years, after by defeating Stipe Drews, the then-reining WBA light-heavyweight champion, via 12-round unanimous decision. This was his 28th fight as a professional.
Green's last fight was a majority decision victory over Anthony Mundine at age 43, on February 3, 2017.
