Joe Calzaghe (The Pride of Wales) is a 52-year-old retired Welsh professional boxer. He is a two-weightclass world champion with 6 world-title wins. In a career spanning 15 years, 1 month, and 7 days, Calzaghe amassed an undefeated record of 46-0, which includes 32 wins via KO, 11 of which were in world-title fights. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2014.
Joe Calzaghe was born in Hammersmith, London, England on March 23, 1972. He made his professional debut at the age of 21 years on October 1, 1993 against Paul Hanlon. Calzaghe defeated Hanlon via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Calzaghe became a world champion at the age of 25 after 22 professional fights. He challenged Chris Eubank for the vacant WBO super-middleweight title and defeated Eubank via 12-round unanimous decision, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully win the light-heavyweight (The Ring) titles also to become a two-division world champion.
Calzaghe's last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Roy Jones Jr. at age 36, on November 8, 2008, in which he successfully defended his The Ring light-heavyweight championship.
