Joe Louis (Brown Bomber) was an American professional boxer. He was a heavyweight world champion. In a career spanning 17 years, 3 months, and 19 days, Louis amassed a record of 66-3, which includes 52 wins via KO, 23 of which were in world-title fights. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 1990.
Joe Louis was born in LaFayette, Alabama, U.S. on May 13, 1914. He made his professional debut at the age of 20 years on July 7, 1934 against Jack Kracken. Louis defeated Kracken via 1st round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Louis became a world champion at the age of 23 after 32 professional fights. He challenged James J. Braddock for the The Ring heavyweight title and stopped the champion in the 8th of the 15-round fight, winning his first world title.
Louis' last fight was an 8th-round TKO loss to Rocky Marciano at age 37, on October 26, 1951.
