Max Schmeling (Black Uhlan of the Rhine) was a German professional boxer. He was a heavyweight world champion. Max Schmeling's Boxing Career

Max Schmeling was born in Klein Luckow, Province of Brandenburg, Prussia, German Empire on September 28, 1905. He made his professional debut at the age of 18 years on August 2, 1924 against Hans Czapp. Schmeling defeated Czapp via 6th round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Schmeling became a world champion at the age of 24 after 49 professional fights. He challenged Jack Sharkey for the The Ring heavyweight title and defeated the champion via 4th round disqualification, winning his first world title.

Schmeling's last fight was a points decision loss to Richard Vogt at age 43, on October 31, 1948.
