Billy Conn (The Pittsburgh Kid) was an American professional boxer. He was a light-heavyweight world champion. In a career spanning 14 years, 4 months, and 5 days, Conn amassed a record of 64-11-1, which includes 15 wins via KO. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 1990.
Billy Conn was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S. on October 8, 1917. He made his professional debut at the age of 16 years on July 20, 1934 against Johnny Lewis. Conn defeated Lewis via 3rd round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Conn became a world champion at the age of 21 after 56 professional fights. He challenged Melio Bettina for the The Ring light-heavyweight title and defeated the champion via 15-round unanimous decision, winning his first world title.
Conn's last fight was a 9th-round KO victory over Jackie Lyons at age 31, on November 25, 1948.
