Max Baer was an American professional boxer. He was a heavyweight world champion. In a career spanning 11 years, 10 months, and 19 days, Baer amassed a record of 68-13, which includes 51 wins via KO, 1 of which was in a world-title fight. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 1995.
Max Baer was born in Omaha, Nebraska, U.S. on February 11, 1909. He made his professional debut at the age of 20 years on May 16, 1929 against Chief Caribou. Baer defeated Caribou via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Baer became a world champion at the age of 25 after 46 professional fights. He challenged Primo Carnera for the The Ring heavyweight title and stopped the champion in the 11th of the 15-round fight, winning his first world title.
Baer's last fight was an 8th-round TKO loss to Lou Nova at age 32, on April 4, 1941.
