Terry Norris

Terry Norris was born in Lubbock, Texas, USA on June 17, 1967. He made his professional debut at the age of 19 years on August 2, 1986 against Jose Luis Cordova. Norris defeated Cordova via 1st round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Norris got his first shot at a world title at the age of 22 after 22 professional fights. On July 30, 1989 Norris challenged Julian Jackson's WBA super-welterweight title but lost via 2nd round TKO.

He became a world champion on March 31, 1990 at the age of 22 years, after by defeating John Mugabi, the then-reining WBC super-welterweight champion, via 1st round KO. This was his 27th fight as a professional.

Norris then went on to successfully win the IBF super-welterweight world title as well.

Norris' last fight was a 9th-round TKO loss to Laurent Boudouani at age 31, on November 30, 1998, in which he was fighting for the WBA super-welterweight title.
