Zora Folley was born in Dallas, Texas, U.S. on May 27, 1931. He made his professional debut at the age of 22 years on September 22, 1953 against Jimmy Ingram. Folley defeated Ingram via 4 round points decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Folley got his first world-title fight at the age of 35 after 85 professional fights. On March 22, 1967 Folley challenged Muhammad Ali's WBA and WBC heavyweight titles but lost via 7th round KO. Folley never got a world-title shot again.
Folley's last fight was a 1st-round KO loss to Mac Foster at age 39, on September 29, 1970.
