Boxing Career
Antonio Tarver was born in Orlando, Florida, U.S. on November 21, 1968. He made his professional debut at the age of 28 years on February 18, 1997 against Joaquin Garcia. Tarver defeated Garcia via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Tarver became a world champion fight at the age of 34 after 21 professional fights. He challenged Montell Griffin for the WBC and IBF light-heavyweight titles and defeated the champion via 12-round unanimous decision, winning his first world titles.
He then went on to successfully win the WBA and The Ring light-heavyweight world titles as well.
Tarver's last fight was a draw against Steve Cunningham on August 14, 2015.
