Reggie Johnson

Reggie Johnson was born in Houston, Texas, U.S. on August 28, 1966. He made his professional debut at the age of 17 years on August 14, 1984 against Mark Henderson. Johnson defeated Henderson via 4 round points decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Johnson got his first shot at a world title at the age of 24 after 31 professional fights. On June 29, 1991 Johnson challenged James Toney's IBF middleweight title but lost via 12-round split decision.

He became a world champion on April 22, 1992 at the age of 25 years, after by defeating Steve Collins, the then-reining WBA middleweight champion, via 12-round majority decision. This was his 34th fight as a professional.

Johnson then went on to successfully win the light-heavyweight (IBF) titles also to become a two-division world champion.

Johnson's last fight was a split decision victory over Julio César González at age 41, on February 23, 2008.
