Érik Morales (El Terrible) is a 48-year-old retired Mexican professional boxer. He is a four-weightclass world champion with 7 world-title wins. In a career spanning 19 years, 6 months, and 21 days, Morales amassed a record of 52-9, which includes 36 wins via KO, 11 of which were in world-title fights. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2018.
Érik Morales was born in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico on September 1, 1976. He made his professional debut at the age of 16 years on March 29, 1993 against José Orejel. Morales defeated Orejel via 2nd round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Morales became a world champion at the age of 21 after 26 professional fights. He challenged Daniel Zaragoza for the WBC super-bantamweight title and stopped the champion in the 11th of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully conquer the featherweight (WBC), super-featherweight (WBC, IBF), and super-lightweight (WBC) divisions as well to become a four-division world champion.
Morales' last fight was a 4th-round KO loss to Danny García at age 36, on October 20, 2012, in which he was fighting for the WBA (Super), WBC, and The Ring super-lightweight titles.
