Lucian Bute's Boxing Career
Lucian Bute was born in Pechea, Galați, Socialist Republic of Romania on February 28, 1980. He made his professional debut at the age of 23 years on November 22, 2003 against Robert Muhammad. Bute defeated Muhammad via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Bute became a world champion at the age of 27 after 20 professional fights. He challenged Alejandro Berrio for the IBF super-middleweight title and stopped the champion in the 11th of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.
Bute's last fight was a 5th-round TKO loss to Eleider Álvarez at age 36, on February 24, 2017.
