Edison Miranda was born in Buenaventura, Colombia on January 7, 1981. He made his professional debut at the age of 20 years on March 16, 2001 against Jose Chiquillo. Miranda defeated Chiquillo via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
