Vic Saludar's Boxing Career
Vic Saludar was born in Polomolok, Philippines on November 3, 1990. He made his professional debut at the age of 22 years on July 13, 2013 against Juanito Hundante. Saludar defeated Hundante via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Saludar got his first shot at a world title at the age of 25 after 12 professional fights. On December 31, 2015 Saludar challenged Kosei Tanaka's WBO strawweight title but lost via 6th round KO.
He became a world champion on July 13, 2018 at the age of 27 years, after by defeating Ryuya Yamanaka, the then-reining WBO strawweight champion, via 12-round unanimous decision. This was his 21st fight as a professional.
Saludar then went on to successfully win the WBA strawweight world title as well.
Saludar's latest fight was a 7th-round KO victory over Ariston Aton at age 32, on December 21, 2022.
