Cory Spinks Record

Cory Spinks was born in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S. on February 20, 1978. He made his professional debut at the age of 19 years on November 21, 1997 against Hector Leguillow. Spinks defeated Leguillow via 4-round unanimous decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Spinks got his first shot at a world title at the age of 24 after 30 professional fights. On April 13, 2002 Spinks challenged Michele Piccirillo's IBF welterweight title but lost via 12-round unanimous decision.

He became a world champion on March 22, 2003 at the age of 25 years, after by defeating Michele Piccirillo in a clash for the vacant IBF welterweight champion. Spinks won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision. This was his 33rd fight as a professional.

Spinks then went on to successfully win the super-welterweight (IBF) titles also to become a two-division world champion — and undisputed at welterweight.

Spinks' last fight was a unanimous decision loss to Carlos Molina at age 34, on February 1, 2013.
