Dariusz Michalczewski

Dariusz Michalczewski was born in Gdańsk, Poland on May 5, 1968. He made his professional debut at the age of 23 years on September 16, 1991 against Frederic Porter. Michalczewski defeated Porter via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Michalczewski became a world champion at the age of 26 after 23 professional fights. He challenged Leeonzer Barber for the WBO light-heavyweight title and defeated the champion via 12-round unanimous decision, winning his first world title.

He then went on to successfully win the cruiserweight (WBO) titles also to become a two-division world champion — and undisputed at light-heavyweight.

Michalczewski's last fight was a 6th-round TKO loss to Fabrice Tiozzo at age 36, on February 26, 2005, in which he was fighting for the WBA light-heavyweight title.
