Joe Frazier (Smokin' Joe Frazier) was an American professional boxer. He was a heavyweight world champion with 3 world-title wins. In a career spanning 16 years, 3 months, and 17 days, Frazier amassed a record of 32-4-1, which includes 27 wins via KO, 4 of which were in world-title fights. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 1990.
Joe Frazier was born in Beaufort, South Carolina, U.S. on January 12, 1944. He made his professional debut at the age of 21 years on August 16, 1965 against Woody Goss. Frazier defeated Goss via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Frazier became a world champion fight at the age of 26 after 24 professional fights. He challenged Jimmy Ellis for the WBA and WBC heavyweight titles and stopped the champion in the 4th of the 15-round fight, winning his first world titles. With this win, he also became the undisputed heavyweight world champion — in his very first world-title fight.
He then went on to successfully win the The Ring heavyweight world title as well — and undisputed at heavyweight.
Frazier's last fight was a draw against Floyd Cummings on December 3, 1981.
