Caleb Truax was born in Osseo, Minnesota, U.S. on September 14, 1983. He made his professional debut at the age of 23 years on April 6, 2007 against Ray Walker. Truax defeated Walker via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Truax got his first shot at a world title at the age of 31 after 28 professional fights. On April 24, 2015 Truax challenged Daniel Jacobs' WBA (Regular) middleweight title but lost via 12th round TKO.
He became a world champion on December 9, 2017 at the age of 34 years, after by defeating James DeGale, the then-reining IBF super-middleweight champion, via 12-round majority decision. This was his 34th fight as a professional.
Truax's latest fight was a unanimous decision loss to Burley Brooks at age 39, on June 24, 2023.
