Boxing Career
Masamichi Yabuki was born in Suzuka, Mie, Japan on July 9, 1992. He made his professional debut at the age of 23 years on March 27, 2016 against Shohei Horii. Yabuki defeated Horii via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Yabuki became a world champion at the age of 29 after 15 professional fights. He challenged Kenshiro Teraji for the WBC light-flyweight title and stopped the champion in the 10th of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully win the IBF light-flyweight world title as well.
Yabuki's latest fight was a 9th-round TKO victory over Sivenathi Nontshinga at age 32, on October 12, 2024, in which he won the IBF light-flyweight world title.
