Alexandro Santiago

Alexandro Santiago was born in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico on February 7, 1996. He made his professional debut at the age of 16 years on December 21, 2012 against Mario Valdez. Santiago defeated Valdez via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Santiago got his first shot at a world title at the age of 22 after 22 professional fights. On September 28, 2018 Santiago challenged Jerwin Ancajas' IBF super-flyweight title but lost via 12-round split decision.

He became a world champion on July 29, 2023 at the age of 27 years, after by defeating Nonito Donaire, the then-reining WBC bantamweight champion, via 12-round unanimous decision. This was his 36th fight as a professional.

Santiago's latest fight was a 6th-round TKO loss to Junto Nakatani at age 28, on February 24, 2024, in which he lost his WBC bantamweight title.
