Brian Castaño's Boxing Career
Brian Castaño was born in Isidro Casanova, Argentina on September 12, 1989. He made his professional debut at the age of 23 years on September 22, 2012 against Alejandro Antonio Dominguez. Castaño defeated Dominguez via 4th round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Castaño got elevated as the WBA (Regular) super-welterweight champion at the age of 28 after 15 professional fights, and had his first world-title defense fight against Cédric Vitu on March 10, 2018. He stopped Vitu in the 12th of the 12-round fight.
He then went on to successfully win the WBO super-welterweight world title as well.
Castaño's latest fight was a 10th-round KO loss to Jermell Charlo at age 32, on May 14, 2022, in which he was fighting for the undisputed super-welterweight world championship and lost his WBO title.
