George Groves' Boxing Career
George Groves was born in Hammersmith, West London, England on March 26, 1988. He made his professional debut at the age of 20 years on November 15, 2008 against Kirilas Psonko. Groves defeated Psonko via 6 round points decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Groves got his first world-title fight at the age of 25 after 19 professional fights. On November 23, 2013 Groves challenged Carl Froch's WBA (Unified) and IBF super-middleweight titles but lost via 9th round TKO.
He became a world champion on May 27, 2017 at the age of 29 years, after by defeating Fedor Chudinov, the then-reining WBA (Super) super-middleweight champion, via 6th round TKO. This was his 29th fight as a professional.
