Hiroyuki Ebihara's Boxing Career

Hiroyuki Ebihara was born in Fussa, Tokyo, Japan on March 26, 1940. He made his professional debut at the age of 19 years on September 20, 1959 against Kazuhiko Kurihara. Ebihara defeated Kurihara via 4th round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Ebihara became a world champion fight at the age of 23 after 38 professional fights. He challenged Pone Kingpetch for the WBA, WBC, and The Ring flyweight titles and stopped the champion in the 1st of the 15-round fight, winning his first world titles. With this win, he also became the undisputed flyweight world champion — in his very first world-title fight.

Ebihara's last fight was a unanimous decision loss to Bernabe Villacampo at age 29, on October 19, 1969, in which he lost his WBA flyweight title.
