Fighting Harada is a 81-year-old retired Japanese professional boxer. He is a two-weightclass world champion with 5 world-title wins. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 1995.
Fighting Harada was born in Tokyo, Japan on April 5, 1943. He made his professional debut at the age of 16 years on February 21, 1960 against Isami Masui. Harada defeated Masui via 4th round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Harada became a world champion fight at the age of 19 after 27 professional fights. He challenged Pone Kingpetch for the WBA and The Ring flyweight titles and stopped the champion in the 11th of the 15-round fight, winning his first world titles.
He then went on to successfully win the bantamweight (WBA, WBC, The Ring) titles also to become a two-division world champion — and undisputed at bantamweight.
Harada's last fight was a 14th-round KO loss to Johnny Famechon at age 26, on January 6, 1970, in which he was fighting for the WBC featherweight title.
