Tony DeMarco

Tony DeMarco (Boston Bomber) was an American professional boxer. He was a welterweight world champion. In a career spanning 13 years, 3 months, and 16 days, DeMarco amassed a record of 58-12-1, which includes 33 wins via KO, 1 of which was in a world-title fight. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2019.

Tony DeMarco's Boxing Career

Tony DeMarco was born in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. on January 14, 1932. He made his professional debut at the age of 16 years on October 21, 1948 against Meteor Jones. DeMarco defeated Jones via 1st round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

DeMarco became a world champion at the age of 23 after 51 professional fights. He challenged Johnny Saxton for the The Ring welterweight title and stopped the champion in the 14th of the 15-round fight, winning his first world title.

DeMarco's last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Stefan Redl at age 30, on February 6, 1962.
