Zsolt Erdei's Boxing Career
Zsolt Erdei was born in Budapest, Hungary on May 31, 1974. He made his professional debut at the age of 26 years on December 5, 2000 against Philip Houthoofdt. Erdei defeated Houthoofdt via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Erdei became a world champion at the age of 29 after 18 professional fights. He challenged Julio César González for the WBO light-heavyweight title and defeated the champion via 12-round unanimous decision, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully win the cruiserweight (WBC) titles also to become a two-division world champion.
Erdei's last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Shalva Jomardashvili at age 39, on March 9, 2014.
