Pedro Guevara

Pedro Guevara was born in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico on June 7, 1989. He made his professional debut at the age of 18 years on March 15, 2008 against Gabriel Lopez. Guevara defeated Lopez via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Guevara got his first shot at a world title at the age of 23 after 19 professional fights. On August 4, 2012 Guevara challenged John Riel Casimero's IBF light-flyweight title but lost via 12-round split decision.

He became a world champion on December 30, 2014 at the age of 25 years, after by defeating Akira Yaegashi, the then-reining WBC light-flyweight champion, via 7th round KO. This was his 26th fight as a professional.

Guevara's latest fight was a 3rd-round TKO loss to Jesse Rodríguez at age 35, on November 9, 2024, in which he was fighting for the WBC and The Ring super-flyweight titles.
