Miguel Román was born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico on November 14, 1985. He made his professional debut at the age of 30 years on April 1, 2016 against Juli Giner. Román defeated Giner via 8th round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Román got his first shot at a world title at the age of 32 after 7 professional fights. On November 3, 2018 Román challenged Miguel Berchelt's WBC super-featherweight title but lost via 9th round TKO. Román never got a world-title shot again.
