Boxing Career
Phumelele Cafu was born in Duncan Village, Eastern Cape, South Africa on September 28, 2004. He made his professional debut at the age of 13 years on May 26, 2018 against Phumelelo Maqolo. Cafu defeated Maqolo via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Cafu became a world champion at the age of 20 after 13 professional fights. He challenged Kosei Tanaka for the WBO super-flyweight title and defeated the champion via 12-round split decision, winning his first world title.
Cafu's latest fight was a split decision victory over Kosei Tanaka at age 20, on October 14, 2024, in which he won the WBO super-flyweight world title.
