Masashi Kudo's Boxing Career
Masashi Kudo was born in Gojōme, Akita, Japan on August 24, 1951. He made his professional debut at the age of 21 years on May 18, 1973 against Toshio Oki. Kudo defeated Oki via 3rd round RTD, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Kudo became a world champion fight at the age of 26 after 19 professional fights. He challenged Eddie Gazo for the WBA and The Ring super-welterweight titles and defeated the champion via 15-round split decision, winning his first world titles.
Kudo's last fight was a unanimous decision loss to Ayub Kalule at age 28, on October 24, 1979, in which he lost his WBA and The Ring super-welterweight titles.
