Beibut Shumenov

Beibut Shumenov was born in Shymkent, Kazakh SSR, Soviet Union on August 19, 1983. He made his professional debut at the age of 24 years on November 17, 2007 against Walter Edwards. Shumenov defeated Edwards via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Shumenov got his first shot at a world title at the age of 25 after 8 professional fights. On August 15, 2009 Shumenov challenged Gabriel Campillo's WBA light-heavyweight title but lost via 12-round majority decision.

In his next fight, he got another shot at the light-heavyweight WBA title. This time he defeated Campillo via 12-round majority decision, winning his first world title.

Shumenov then went on to successfully win the cruiserweight (WBA) titles also to become a two-division world champion.

Shumenov's last fight was a 9th-round RTD victory over Hizni Altunkaya at age 34, on July 7, 2018, in which he won the vacant WBA (Regular) cruiserweight world title.
