Paul Butler's Boxing Career
Paul Butler was born in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, England on November 11, 1988. He made his professional debut at the age of 22 years on December 11, 2010 against Anwar Alfadi. Butler defeated Alfadi via 4 round points decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Butler became a world champion at the age of 25 after 15 professional fights. He challenged Stuart Hall for the IBF bantamweight title and defeated the champion via 12-round split decision, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully win the WBO bantamweight world title as well.
Butler's latest fight was an 11th-round TKO loss to Naoya Inoue at age 34, on December 13, 2022, in which he was fighting for the undisputed bantamweight world championship and lost his WBO title.
