Orzubek Nazarov's Boxing Career

Orzubek Nazarov was born in Kant, Kyrgyz SSR, USSR on August 30, 1966. He made his professional debut at the age of 23 years on February 1, 1990 against Makoto Nishizawa. Nazarov defeated Nishizawa via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Nazarov became a world champion at the age of 27 after 17 professional fights. He challenged Dingaan Thobela for the WBA lightweight title and defeated the champion via 12-round unanimous decision, winning his first world title.

Nazarov's last fight was a unanimous decision loss to Jean-Baptiste Mendy at age 31, on May 16, 1998, in which he lost his WBA lightweight title.
