Ricardo López (El Finito) is a 58-year-old retired Mexican professional boxer. He is a two-weightclass world champion with 4 world-title wins. In a career spanning 16 years, 8 months, and 11 days, López amassed an undefeated record of 51-0-1, which includes 38 wins via KO, 19 of which were in world-title fights. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2007.
Ricardo López was born in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico on July 25, 1966. He made his professional debut at the age of 18 years on January 18, 1985 against Rogelio Hernandez. López defeated Hernandez via 3rd round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
López became a world champion at the age of 24 after 26 professional fights. He challenged Hideyuki Ohashi for the WBC strawweight title and stopped the champion in the 5th of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully win the light-flyweight (IBF) titles also to become a two-division world champion.
López' last fight was an 8th-round KO victory over Zolani Petelo at age 35, on September 29, 2001, in which he successfully defended his IBF light-flyweight championship.
