Juan Francisco Estrada

Juan Francisco Estrada was born in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico on April 14, 1990. He made his professional debut at the age of 18 years on August 30, 2008 against Sergio Chavez. Estrada defeated Chavez via 4-round unanimous decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Estrada got his first shot at a world title at the age of 22 after 27 professional fights. On November 17, 2012 Estrada challenged Román González' WBA light-flyweight title but lost via 12-round unanimous decision.

In his next fight, he got another shot at the light-flyweight WBA (Unified) and WBO titles — this time against Brian Viloria. He defeated Viloria via 12-round unanimous decision, winning his first world titles.

Estrada then went on to successfully win the super-flyweight (WBC, The Ring, WBA) titles also to become a two-division world champion.

Estrada's latest fight was a 7th-round RTD loss to Jesse Rodríguez at age 34, on June 29, 2024, in which he lost his WBC and The Ring super-flyweight titles.
