Boxing Career
Carlos Palomino was born in San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, Mexico on August 10, 1949. He made his professional debut at the age of 23 years on September 14, 1972 against Javier Martinez. Palomino defeated Martinez via 4 round points decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Palomino became a world champion fight at the age of 26 after 23 professional fights. He challenged John H. Stracey for the WBC and The Ring welterweight titles and stopped the champion in the 12th of the 15-round fight, winning his first world titles.
Palomino's last fight was a unanimous decision loss to Wilfredo Rivera at age 48, on May 30, 1998.
