Andreas Kotelnik (Kotelya) is a 46-year-old retired Ukrainian professional boxer. He is a former super-lightweight world champion. In a career spanning 13 years, 9 months, and 18 days, Kotelnik amassed a record of 32-4-1, which includes 13 wins via KO, 1 of which was in a world-title fight.
Andreas Kotelnik was born in Lviv, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union on December 29, 1977. He made his professional debut at the age of 22 years on December 16, 2000 against Peter Feher. Kotelnik defeated Feher via 1st round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Kotelnik got his first shot at a world title at the age of 29 after 29 professional fights. On March 10, 2007 Kotelnik challenged Souleymane M'baye's WBA super-lightweight title but lost via 12-round split decision.
He became a world champion on March 22, 2008 at the age of 30 years, after by defeating Gavin Rees, the then-reining WBA super-lightweight champion, via 12th round TKO. This was his 32nd fight as a professional.
Kotelnik's last fight was an unanimous decision victory over Alexander Benidze at age 36, on October 4, 2014.
