Raymond Ford was born in Camden, New Jersey, U.S. on March 16, 1999. He made his professional debut at the age of 19 years on March 15, 2019 against Weusi Johnson. Ford defeated Johnson via 4-round unanimous decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Ford became a world champion at the age of 24 after 15 professional fights. He challenged Otabek Kholmatov for the vacant WBA (Regular) featherweight title and stopped Kholmatov in the final round of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.
